I know I usually write a little blurb about each book but since this post contains three months of book reading, I’m obviously behind in parts of my life. And some of the books are no longer very fresh in my mind to say anything very stimulating or profound. I also started some Very Thick Books this summer and fall which I did not finish before the library callously expected them back in circulation. Life is harsh. Books have lots of pages. Reading in bed is dangerous.

I commiserate with your comments about books from the library. If I borrow a decent size book & it grabs me I usually try to buy it if I can find it cheaply enough. The worst is when it's been reserve and you've no choice but to take it back. We listened to a great audio of Wolves of Willoughby chase on a long car trip & Girl of the Limberlost made me cry.
I try to buy the book as well Carol. I generally use the library to test-run books or for books I don't think I will want to own. Or for when the Canadian dollar's sinking makes books much more spendy than I prefer. I like books and good deals. 🙂

The Ferris Wheel book and the one about Roget are books we recently checked out from the library too! We enjoyed both of them quite a bit. I particularly liked the illustration style of the Roget book. I'll have to see if I can find any of these other ones.
And I meant to add – I absolutely loved Girl of the Limberlost! The characters and the natural history were wonderful.
Roget and the Thesaurus was one of the nicest books we've read in a long time.

Amber, thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts on the book list. I'm reading Freckles now, which came before Girl of the Limberlost, it seems equally good although I am barely into the meat of the story.
