Fall foods as pictured

Here’s a sampling of some of the foods we’ve enjoyed in September and October. I’ve added a caption to most of the photos to explain what you’re looking at and links to any recipes you might be interested in.

Our very local orchard (just down the hill) with gigantic Honeycrisp apples.
Kate’s backpack full of apples she picked. One of my better ideas to keep her content while we enjoyed the orchard experience.
Rustic apple pie for Thanksgiving dessert. Honeycrisp from the orchard.
Back-to-homeschool-chocolate-cake, decorated by the student, her signature cat figure.
Cleaned out the freezer and cooked down some berries to make sauce.
Strawberries, Raspberry and Blueberry
The berry sauce, strained and silky smooth sauce for Kate’s lunches.
Variety forgotten, but Delicious. And Beautiful.
Clapp Pears, not much flavor, made into sauce for Kate’s lunches.
Chocolate Chip Pancakes for supper.
Betty Crocker’s Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie in a fall photoshoot.
Popping cranberries in my thrifted Revere Ware pot.
Thanksgiving Cranberry Sauce, made a note by my purse and didn’t leave it in the fridge this year!
Dutch Butter Cake, autumn edition, made for our local homeschool parent night.
Fresh eggs from a friend.
Kate’s fall supper from last weekend.
Ham and Bean soup back on the menu for fall.
A birthday cake from this past week as we looked forward to watching the Blue Jays in the World Series.
Baked by a friend for church: Gingerbread cake with maple frosting. Amazing!
